Reporting to – Senior or Lead Cloud Platform Engineer
Working with the Senior Cloud Platforms Engineer, you will be heavily involved in the contribution and acceleration of our Cloud migration project, contributing to the Cloud team standards, and identifying and implementing improvements to processes, tools, and standards.
- Contribute and help accelerate company migration projects in the cloud
- Contributing to the Cloud team standards, identifying and implementing improvements to processes, tools, and standards
- Creating and testing IaC (Infrastructure as Code) using Terraform and delivering projects maintaining deadlines
- Collaborating with different project teams including Applications, Operations, Security, Sys Admins etc to define and deliver the required AWS capability for a given project/initiative
- Contribute to improving team culture by promoting transparency, openness, knowledge sharing and actively looking to help other members of the team with support where necessary
- Be a genuine team player i.e. able to share knowledge/experience with other team members.
- Contribute in building a team culture and to help troubleshoot day-to-day issues within the team and also to provide support to other teams where possible
- Supporting our cloud customers during deployment, onboarding, and ensuring security best practices within the cloud environment
- Maintaining our cloud environments in line with company policy
- Create and maintain up-to-date documentation with regard to terraform modules, projects, and customer onboarding
- Considerable experience working in Cloud services, preferably AWS
- Certified AWS Cloud Practitioner & Solution Architect Associate
- Experience working with serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS etc
- Experience with IaC (Terraform). Creating and managing cloud infrastructure using terraform modules
- Experience with Git. Managing code check-in, code reviews, and maintaining a standardised repository structure
- Experience of creating and managing cloud native CI/CD pipelines preferably micro-services using docker, ECS.
- Experience with configuration management tools preferably Ansible
- Experience with one, or more, of the following; Java, Python, Go or Scripting (Groovy/Shell)
- Experience working in DevOps and with Agile mindset
- Cloud migration and project experience will be preferred
- Prior experience in a PCI-DSS compliant environment would be highly beneficial, or another highly regulated industry background
- Experience of monitoring tools specifically through CloudWatch and Opensearch.
