Working as the CMM Programmer & Operator / Applications Training Engineer you will be responsible for providing technical support and training on the use of the company’s CMM software and machines as well as developing and implementing custom measurement solutions for clients.
As the CMM Programmer & Operator / Applications Training Engineer you will join a team of applications engineers and assist in delivery the company’s internal/external software application training to clients, following agreed standards.

DUTIES
Your duties as the CMM Programmer & Operator / Applications Training Engineer include:
• Provide technical support to customers on the use of CMM software and machines
• Develop and implement custom measurement solutions for customers
• Provide programming services for customers (sub-contract measurement of customer components)
• Carry out external/internal application training to agreed standards
• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop new business opportunities
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in CMM technology and software
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Background in mechanical engineering (or equivalent)
• Previous experience in CMM programming and operation
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• A strong understanding of CMM software and hardware, as well as experience in programming and operating both manual and CNC CMM equipment
• Competent with reading and understanding detailed technical drawings and specifications, ability to determine the best method of inspection and a good understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Ability to work to technical instructions and deliver consistent, high-quality Inspection across a wide variety of industries and components
• Carry out calibration of measurement equipment and maintain accurate records
• Good communication, presentation, interpersonal and documentation skills
• High degree of initiative and ability to work unsupervised and on client’s premises
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Full valid driving licence
• Willingness to travel as needed (mainly UK and Ireland) including spending occasional nights away from home in a hotel with expenses covered by the company
