Job description

  • Are you currently holding a position in a customer facing environment dealing with debt collection ideally in a housing environment or similar?
  • Do you possess understanding and experience in rent arrears, possession action including attending court and evictions?
  • Do you have a proven understanding and experience in welfare benefits, universal credit and housing benefit?
  • Are you confident in using all Microsoft packages?
  • Do you have proven time management, negotiation, and prioritisation skills?
  • Have you the ability to work under pressure in a target focused environment?
  • Are you a collaborative individual focused on achieving the common goal?

Here at Peabody, we have an opportunity for a Collections Officer on a fixed term basis at our Westminster Bridge Road offices.

A bit about the role:

As a Collections Officer, you will be the first point of contact for effectively managing tenant arrears with a strong focus on income collection maximisation and customer relations. Exhausting a set of agreed policies and procedures and through using data to ensure the delivery of a rent collection and arrears service which meets targets whilst helping customers to manage debt and sustain their tenancies.. Some of the key results for the role include:

  • Maximising cash collection, reducing rent arrears and preventing evictions and thereby sustaining tenancies
  • Embodying Peabody’s values and demonstrating excellent customer service
  • Adapting to changing internal and external factors and legislation and maximising collaboration with the Financial Inclusion and support teams.

This role will require a minimum of 1 - 2 days in Ealing office.
