Are you a Commercial Account Broker with experience in Brokering in Recruitment, Retail and Wholesale, seeking a new opportunity to work for an established brokerage?
If so, a Regional Insurance Broker based in Birmingham, have a great new opportunity for a Commercial Account Broker to join one of their specialist teams.
The purpose of the role is to maintain and retain an existing book of business specific to the Recruitment Sector. This book of business is a bespoke and specialist Delegated Authority scheme underwritten by Zurich.
The role will be hybrid and consider some broking, underwriting and account handling across Retail and Wholesale Distribution Channels.
The expectation is to not only assist with retention but to contribute to the growth of this specialist book.
You will have the opportunity to taught and coached through your Under Writing License (6 to 10 weeks for the first of 5 Licences)
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Pursue retention levels that meet and hopefully exceed target and contribute effectively to new business attachments.
• Underwrite according to strategy and guidance through risk identification and evaluation and balance with the same confidence of own judgement and readiness to challenge the status-quo,
• Document and maintain quality files that accurately demonstrate underwriting rationale.
• Identify via underwriting review where appropriate cross sell opportunities.
• To possess strong knowledge of wider commercial insurance products and place business with a range of insurers identifying qualities including cover, security, reputation, and claims service.
• To work closely with the appointed account executive assisting in running that book of business and managing requirements of those customer.
• Exhibit behaviours, knowledge, and confidence re: insurance to staffing sector business as well as commercial business within the account executive’s allocation.

- Ensure all policies and procedures are implemented and complied with, including financial regulations, data protection, health and safety and all regulatory requirements.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Experience
• Minimum 2 years Commercial Account handler experience
• Knowledge on Professional Indemnity (Preferred)
• The principles, practices, and legalities of all major classes of General Insurance
• The FCA regulatory framework and compliance aspects
• Knowledge of Acturis Brokerage Software (Preferred)
