Commercial Analyst - FMCG

An exciting opportunity has arisen for this established FMCG organisation for a Commercial Analyst to join their team. We’re looking for someone with excellent analysis skills, experience of planning, analysis, reporting and cost control as well as strong commercial acumen. * Please note we can only consider candidates who have experience working in FMCG for this role.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage all areas of budgeting - annual financial planning, twice yearly forecasts updates, highlighting/managing risks and opportunities. Preparation of budgeting packs.
- To produce sales and profit and loss reports - sales reporting, annual budget summaries, cost reporting.
- Financial Analysis - to provide a clear understanding of the key drivers of sales, gross margin and profitability. Providing recommendations for profit improvement.
- Financial Control - monitoring/control of marketing investment levels in line with contractual spend limits/agreed overinvestment levels.
- Actively participate in review meetings with Marketing and Sales - budget/forecast update meetings, monthly performance review meetings and cost control meetings.
- To provide input/support for the development of processes and systems to deliver improvements and cost efficiencies.
Candidate requirements:
- Proven previous experience in a similar role
- Experience of managing and reporting against budgets/forecast updates
- Experience of working with Microsoft Navision or similar integrated ERP system
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel
- FMCG/Consumer goods industry experience
- Preferably fully CIMA qualified
- Able to build good working relationships
- Commercial orientation
- A proactive approach to problem resolution
