Commercial Assistant

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Assistant for our client who provide end to end supply chain management solutions to a growing client base.
This role, reporting to the Managing Director, is to grow and retain a portfolio of accounts by building relationships and successfully delivering solutions.
Responsibilities and duties include:
Key account management for existing customers and suppliers.
Balance customers relationship with supplier management.
Fully understand the commodity markets they operate in.
Ensure full compliance with insurers requirements and specifications.
Build outstanding relationships with all clients and become a trusted advisor.
Working with the leadership team to develop strategic objectives to enhance your clients ROI.
Scheduling and attending internal and external customer meetings.
Establishing key contacts at all levels and develop a contact strategy.
Create a clear account plan for each customer.
Working closely with the operations team to review scheduling to deliver the contract in full.
Self-generate new business leads from prospecting activity and networking.
Engage with the right stakeholders at the right level to steer and optimise all opportunities.
Essential Skills Required
Previous experience in a commercial environment in sales, supply chain, logistics or similar
Appetite to identify, drive & manage business growth.
Pro-active, autonomous approach to go beyond client expectations.
Financial awareness/ability to understand & apply financial modelling tools.
Excellent communication and networking skills, ability to manage high level relationships.
Good negotiator with excellent influencing and interpersonal skills.
Good IT skills with an ability to understand new systems and processes.
Influential team player.

£28,000 to £30,000 per annum depending upon experience
