HSBC Innovation Banking (HINV), Strategic Fund Solutions (SFS) team is responsible for managing key aspects of HINV’s relationship with its Private Equity and Venture Capital clients. SFS optimises the client experience through dedicated relationship management and cross selling the breadth of HINV’s products to this sector, including banking, lending, treasury and foreign exchange.

We are looking for an Associate, based in London to manage the client onboarding journey for all Funds & Emerging Managers clients.

Responsibilities

The associate will have the following key responsibilities:

Onboarding:

  • Opening all new to new and new to existing accounts for clients across the SFS and Emerging Manager (EM) portfolios.
  • Working across internal stakeholders including the Relationship Managers, the Onboarding teams, the Risk and Compliance teams and facing off to the client to ensure the right information is gathered and to provide timely updates on the onboarding process ensuring a quick and successful account opening.
  • Coordinates the execution of account opening, banking products and/or services implementation processes, working with the centralised support teams to ensure this is completed timeously and that the client is kept up to date on progress.
  • Assists with the resolution of complex inquiries; monitors internal cases/client enquiries until closed with satisfactory results for client.
  • Referral point for client information requests from internal stakeholders including KYC Refresh, Financial Crime, Onboarding and Client Service.
  • Collaborates with Relationship Management, Emerging Managers and the Product Advisor teams as needed to ensure banking accounts, products and/or services are set up.
  • Coordinate training for clients on Online Banking usage.
  • Key point of contact/referral for clients on any onboarding needs.
Requirements

Knowledge

  • Commercial banking experience
  • An understanding of Private Equity and Venture Capital structures would be advantageous.
  • Onboarding experience is advantageous.
Skills
  • Computer/Technical Skills: MS Office products; CRM Systems etc.
  • Dynamic professional with outstanding written, presentation, and visual communication skills
  • Easily builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Experienced at establishing priorities and meeting swift deadlines in a fast pace, rapidly changing environment.
  • An ability to work independently in completing assigned duties
  • Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • An ability to quickly gain a thorough knowledge of HINV’s bank operations and products.
  • A genuine interest in and desire to learn about the venture capital and private equity sector

Travel
No travel is expected for this position. This is a full-time role based in London with an expectation that 3 days a week will be done in the office.
