Elevation Accountancy and Finance are delighted to be working with a fantastic business in the Sheffield area as they look to recruit a Commercial Finance Assistant into their team on a full time permanent basis.
Role Responsibilities:
- Review daily reporting, understand key movements in sales & margin from order input through to despatch & invoice
- Working with Power BI to develop and improve daily sales and margin reporting & sales rep trackers
- Complete management accounts on time including; sales and margin reconciliations, unbilled sales journals, rebate accruals, overheads
- Support finance manager in preparation and recognition of supplier income
- Review monthly results & distribute reporting packs to sales managers
- Provide key variance analysis
- Support finance manager with board packs and commentary
Develop and improve process for targeting & monitoring monthly sales commissions - Complete & review key customer profitability models working with sales functions to challenge and drive customer profitability at all levels of the P&L
- Provide finance support for upcoming bids and retenders for existing and new contracts
- Support finance manager & managing director with weekly forecasting where required, including; ensuring forecast files are updated and accurate, consolidation of group numbers and commentary on weekly forecast slides
- Assist in production of models by channel for annual budgets, work with channel directors to compile accurate and sensible budgets by customer challenging where appropriate
- Assist in developing a customer budget model within for the business
- Work with marketing team in developing annual budget and monitoring and tracking monthly spend and committed PO’s, ensuring spend is accurately reflected in the monthly accounts
- Build relationships with account managers and channel directors of the business providing key support to deliver business decisions
- Provide proactive support and analysis for key stakeholders as required
Skills and attributes:
- Essential Part-Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA
- Desirable Experience of working in a fast paced, retail or FMCG environment
- Essential Good IT skills and confident in the use of Microsoft Excel
- Business partnering and building relationships with non finance colleagues within the business
- Able to communicate effectively with finance and beyond
- Ability to challenge, articulate clearly and stand up to sales colleagues
- Good organisational and workload management skills, specifically the ability to prioritise own work and reprioritise when necessary
- Strong attention to detail and able to produce work with a high level of accuracy
- Able to respond to changing priorities
