Position Overview:
Reporting to the Senior FP&A Manager and collaborating closely with senior members of the FP&A and Commercial teams, the Commercial Accountant will play a pivotal role in financial analysis, reporting, and insight generation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, review, and distribution of weekly accounts and commercial & financial reports and will contribute to the month-end process by providing valuable analysis. This role offers exposure to various commercial facets of the business, particularly in working closely with major supermarket chains. The ideal candidate will possess a keen analytical mindset, a focus on understanding business drivers, and a commitment to delivering value-added outcomes.
Core Responsibilities:
* Preparation of weekly accounts and analysis, assisting with monthly accounts alongside the FP&A team.
* Ownership of customer reporting for major supermarket chains.
* Management of KPI reporting for Commercial & Procurement functions, with exposure to senior leadership for regular review.
* Contribution to annual budgets and quarterly re-forecasts.
* Financial and business performance analysis, leading to actionable recommendations and forward-looking projections.
* Support with customer costings and tender processes.
* Collaboration with Commercial & Procurement teams to enhance understanding of financial metrics and drive margins.
Skills and Experience:
* Advanced MS Excel skills
* Experience with ERP systems
* Manufacturing and/or produce industry experience (desirable)
* Strong IT ability with proficiency in data modelling, mining, and evaluation (PowerBI/Microsoft Dynamics desirable)
Qualifications:
Part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
