Are you a visionary leader with a passion for chemistry and business development? Do you thrive in dynamic environments where you can drive growth and foster innovation? If so, we want you to join our client's team as a Commercial Manager.
The role exists due to succession planning and the successful candidate will be earmarked for promotion to the Commercial Director role within the next 12 months. Based on hitting key performance indicators there is also scope to be further promoted to Managing Director of the site within the next 6 years.
During the handover period this role will be based onsite 5 days a week with international and UK travel where needed. There is future scope for a combination of Onsite and WFH in the future.
As part of their succession planning they will also be recruiting a BD Manager who will report directly into the Commercial Manager and who will have a direct involvement in the recruitment of the post.
Role:
As a Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of their company and driving their commercial strategy forward. Leveraging your expertise in chemistry, business development, and account management, you will lead their efforts to identify new opportunities, cultivate strategic partnerships, and maximize revenue potential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute comprehensive commercial strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, markets, and partnerships aligned with the company's objectives.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
• Lead negotiations and contract development to secure favourable terms and agreements.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and execution of commercial initiatives.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory developments to inform strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Chemistry or a related field.
• Proven experience in commercial leadership roles within the chemical industry.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of market dynamics.
• Demonstrated track record of driving business development and account growth.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes.
