PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Our Client, who is a well-known Hospitality company specialising in Retail and Events is looking for a Commis Chef apprentice.
The successful candidate will offer support to the department Head Chef in providing a smooth and seamless running of the kitchen operation. Ensuring high standards of food service and food/product innovation in is kept at all times.
You will be required to work 7 shifts a week average of 48 hours business dependent.
REPORTING
The Commis Chef apprentices will be reporting directly to the Sous Chef / Head Chef
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure to report for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform at all times.
- Ensure the highest standards of grooming and personal hygiene standards are kept at all times.
- Maintain professional decorum in all areas of the building, whilst on and off duty, and be a representative of the company at all times.
- Maintain good working relationships with your colleagues and all other departments.
- Ensure highest standards of customer care at all times, providing a friendly, courteous and professional service at all time.
- Attend necessary departmental meetings and training courses as required.
- Adhere to the company procedures for sickness, absence and holiday requests.
- Provide a friendly, courteous and professional attitude at all times.
- Maintain a clean and neat workplace.
DIRECT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene
- Preparing the ingredients for a more senior chef
- Measuring dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately
- Dealing with deliveries and stock rotation
- Communicating with senior chefs on any operational issues
- Preparing food as assigned on a daily basis
- Ensuring that all food items for the service are prepared on time and meet quality and quantity standards
- Maintaining of cleanliness in all assigned areas, including refrigerators and freezers
- Attending training sessions
- Reporting any equipment on the section which needs repair or maintenance
- Ensuring freshness and suitability of products used by the section and that they are stored properly
- Ensuring smooth running of the section during Demi Chef De parties absences
- Any other duties pertaining to a kitchen that may be assigned by a senior chef
