In this crucial role, you will work closely with our talented Chef de Parties, assisting in every aspect of kitchen operations. From meal preparation and kitchen maintenance to ensuring the highest standards of safety and sanitation, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our valued guests.

Your Day-to-Day as a Commis Chef:

* Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, chopping, and cutting fruits, meats, and vegetables

* Prepare and cook elements of dishes under the guidance of the Chef de Partie

* Measure, mix, and prepare meal ingredients, sauces, and seasonings with precision

* Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to strict sanitation policies

* Monitor kitchen equipment and promptly report any issues to superiors

* Continuously expand your culinary knowledge to consistently produce high-quality meals

* Plate dishes with attention to detail and attractive presentation

* Assess inventory levels and request resupply when necessary

What We're Looking for:

* A minimum of 6 months of experience working as a Commis Chef in a professional kitchen

* Passion for the culinary arts and a desire to learn and grow

* Solid understanding of food, health, and safety regulations

* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

* Flexibility to work weekends and holidays

* Knowledge of manual handling techniques and awareness of COSHH regulations

* Proficiency in using a variety of kitchen equipment, including knives

* Competent level of English (spoken and written)

* Strong team player qualities and a positive, approachable demeanour
