Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Temporary Commis Chef to join our client’s kitchen team for a short-term assignment. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, cooking, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness, ensuring high standards of hygiene and efficiency are maintained throughout their shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces.
- Help with cooking and plating dishes under the supervision of senior chefs.
- Ensure all food preparation areas are clean and hygienic at all times.
- Follow proper food handling procedures and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operation during service.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach to all tasks.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commis Chef or similar role.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and principles.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and learn quickly.
- Food hygiene certification is desirable but not essential.
