Introduction

There is an opportunity to join the Prevention, Inclusion and Public Health Commission team as a Supported Housing and Rough Sleeper Services Commissioning Officer. You will work closely with providers and key stakeholders to set up and maintain good quality services for Lewisham's residents.

Do you have experience of delivering services for people with multiple, co-occurring needs and understand the challenges the sector faces? Are you able to communicate clearly with a variety of audiences to achieve positive outcomes through evidenced based negotiations and collaboration? Can you use analytic skills and evidence to inform decision making?

What’s the role?

In the role of Commissioning Officer you will:

  • Monitor supported housing and rough sleeper services commissioned by the London Borough of Lewisham, using audit, performance data, and service user feedback.
  • Work closely with providers, service users, and other stakeholders to shape markets, to meet the needs of the people of Lewisham. 
  • Run procurement processes for supported housing services, achieving high quality services at value for money which meet the strategic needs of the Lewisham. 
  • Support the Pathway Manager with service user placements and coordination.

This role is a temporary contract for 18 months.

What we’re looking for

Someone who understands why supported housing is important and what purpose it serves in our local health and social care system, in addition it would be beneficial to understand the challenges the sector faces. Someone who cares about the outcomes for residents of Lewisham with support needs, and wants to effect services to deliver the best quality support possible.

A good candidate would be able to communicate complex evidenced based messages clearly, including challenging message and leading on collaboration. The ability to analyse data and systems. Someone who can work in partnership and lead to deliver on projects.

Location

The job is primarily based in Laurence House, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis. The role's core work will also require you to go into services based across the borough of Lewisham regularly.

Salary

£46,053 - £48,063 per annum (P03)

N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
