This is a fantastic role within Sky’s Commercial Department, Sky Business, responsible for delivering entertainment experiences and connectivity to commercial premises across the UK and ROI.
We are looking for a Communications Manager to lead our external communications and PR in the Hospitality Sector. For the Hospitality Sector, Sky Sports is a key part of our proposition, and we continue to offer an unrivalled line-up of live sport to our customers, which in turn helps them to drive more footfall and revenue for their businesses.
What you'll do:
The Communications Manager role is responsible for leading all our external communications, including developing and managing our partnerships with the Hospitality Trade Associations.
- Develop and implement the Sky Business Hospitality external communications strategy to ensure we deliver our strategic priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business media, news editors, media writers and trade associations to amplify our strategic priorities.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across Sky Business (Sales, Product, Operations) and deliver engaging and impactful communication activities that support our go-to-market and customer engagement plans.
- Create external communication and PR campaigns that help drive awareness of and demand for Sky Business products and services.
- Develop a network at Sky that will enable you to find answers quickly, helps support and amplify our business priorities.
- Manage PR campaigns, drafting objectives and audience targets, working through sign off processes and delivering on the strategy.
- Handle incoming media enquiries and helping reach resolutions that reflect positively on Sky and Sky Business.
- Work with press office colleagues to maintain high standards and provide a valuable service to the business.
- Support in delivery of key messages and posts across Sky Business Social media platforms.
- Manage the external communications budget for the Hospitality sector.
What you'll bring:
- PR and external communications experience working in a B2B communications role, inhouse or agency side, that includes a blend of PR plan development, writing, media relations and event management.
- A good understanding and passion for sports and entertainment, in particular Sky Sports is essential for this role.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills with an ability to translate sometimes difficult or complex messages into effective, persuasive content.
- Confident negotiation skills with an ability to build strong relationships and use experience / personality to influence the positive outcome of decisions.
- Creative thinking to proactively deliver media coverage for key campaigns and narratives.
- Experience in a fast-paced customer-focused / operational business, with a track record of delivering results.
- Collaboration with excellent interpersonal networking and relationship building skills.
- A curious nature, always looking to question, learn, and look for better ways to do things. Someone who thrives on exploring the new, familiar and uncertain.
- Enthusiasm, with a desire to constantly deliver great work, willing to roll up your sleeves and see where things need to be done.
