Salary: G7 £31,364 - £35,745

We are looking for self-motivated, conscientious, team players who are committed to protecting the public and communities of Walsall from harm and supporting people and businesses comply with a broad range of legal requirements.
This role sits within the Community Protection team and will be integral to supporting the aspirations of We are Walsall 2040 which is a future focussed plan that sets out everyone’s hopes and dreams for what the borough should be like by 2040.
The post holder will be responsible for
- Patrolling with partner agencies and colleagues in hot spot locations at times where a visible presence will provide reassurance to communities and deterrence to those seeking to do harm.
- taking on investigations potentially leading to service of legal notices prosecutions, injunctions and other legal remedies.
Key areas of focus include
- enforcement of the public spaces protection order in Walsall Town Centre
- anti-social behaviour concerns in communities
- liaison with licensing and police colleagues regarding the night time economy
- envirocrimes such as litter, dog fouling, fly tipping etc.
- tackling highways obstructions.
Applicants will have experience of working in a partnership environment and have a good knowledge of enforcement tools used to tackle issues such as anti social behaviour and environmental crimes.
The post involves patrolling public areas, dealing with hostility, working evenings and weekends. Use of a vehicle would be preferable.
