Our client who is a leading insurance managing general agent (MGA) is looking to hire a Compliance Manager for their London office. This role reports into the Head of Compliance (Underwriting).
They work to a hybrid model of three days in the office and two from home.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as an advisor to the assigned business units, delivering technical regulatory advice, guidance, and appropriate challenge to support the business in meeting its regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively within the Compliance Team, providing support to other team members and proactively sharing information/learnings to benefit the wider team.
- Analyse regulatory change, determining how changes will impact the business and supporting effective implementation.
- Attend business unit and operational meetings, providing updates on relevant topics and initiatives, promoting an open line of communication between Compliance and the business, and fostering an embedded compliance culture.
- Collaborate in the development and review of policies and training to facilitate the implementation of the compliance framework and support with the integration of any changes.
- Provide compliance work stream support on group wide projects, regulatory change projects and M&A integration projects.
- Assist with the provision of information and updates to be included within Board/meeting packs.
- Review the design of new products and services to ensure they deliver good customer outcomes and meet regulatory requirements.
- Review Sanctions referrals and queries from the business, assessing applicable legislation to provide a relevant recommendation.
- Review and issue agency agreements for broker and regulatory relationships.
- Support Group Assurance team members and External Auditors to provide relevant requested information and support the timely completion of any actions points.
- Support the risk assessment process, assisting the business to identify risks, using commercial awareness to ensure risks are appropriately managed.
Experience required:
- Relevant Financial Services experience ideally within an insurance broker, insurer or MGA.
- Working knowledge and experience of the FCA and implementing FCA requirements in a meaningful
- and business led manner.
- Commercial awareness, focus on the proportionate application of regulation within the insurance.
- A good understanding delegated authorities (desirable);
- Understanding of Lloyds and London Insurance Market (desirable).
