Job description

DAS UK Group is looking to recruit an organised and efficient Compliance Officer to join the Risk and Compliance department on a permanent basis in our city-centre Bristol offices. Reporting into the Head of Compliance Advice, this is a brilliant opportunity to support the delivery of the compliance framework and provide support to the compliance team and the wider business.

This is a broad and varied role, which covers the FCA, PRA and ICO regulatory frameworks, including financial crime. The successful candidate will support the team in providing pragmatic second line advice and guidance on general day to day business activities and projects, regulatory change and other initiatives. You will look to provide guidance of regulatory expectations as well as support to colleagues across the business in proactively identifying, assessing and managing customer and conduct risks and incidents.

In addition, key responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and delivering suitable regulatory compliance training sessions to a range of groups to maintain employee awareness of regulatory standards and expectations
  • Supporting horizon-scanning to identify and assess emerging regulatory change, of which the business should take account in its long-term decision making
  • Authorship of policies and processes covered by the compliance framework and ensuring that these remain appropriate to the size and complexity of the business, using external networks and sources to establish a proportionate approach
  • Supporting the production of compliance reporting and Management Information to relevant committees

Request

We are keen to hear from candidates with previous experience of delivering compliance support within the first or second line of defence. It is desirable that you will be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant financial services regulation and legislation, but this is not essential. The successful candidate will hold the ability to get up to speed on issues quickly and demonstrate innovative thinking for how to effectively deal with new, complex problems.

In addition, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Analytical and research skills with the ability to turn information into clear and concise risk-based insight and to deliver this with professionalism
  • Strong delivery ethos, team ethic and collaborative approach
  • Excellent organisational skills including the effective management of competing priorities and tight deadlines

As a team we are passionate and enthusiastic about what we do. Our people are encouraged to think independently and to take ownership of their work. You will be agile in the way that you work and adaptable to change. In return for your commitment we will offer you generous remuneration and an attractive benefits package, including:
- 25 days holiday with the option to buy up to a further 5 days
- Company pension scheme with the option to increase contributions
- Group Income Protection for all employees
- Group Legal Protection for all employees
- A choice of either European Motor Assistance or Home Emergency Assistance
- Salary sacrifice benefits including Cycle scheme and season ticket loans
- A comprehensive wellbeing programme including a range of free weekly exercise classes (dependent on your office location) and free eye tests
- Access to our employee discounts hub offering exclusive discounts across thousands of retail partners, including discounted gym memberships at over 3,000 gyms across the UK
- The option to join our Sports and Social club which organises discounted events such as theatre visits, wine tasting and shopping trips

At DAS we support flexible working, and are happy to discuss flexible working options for this opportunity.

If you think you would be a good match for this role and can demonstrate some transferable experience please apply, regardless of whether you meet all the criteria listed above.
