Role Overview: My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join their team. As a key member of their commercial leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the business forward. The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of commercial construction knowledge and demonstrate exceptional leadership, networking, and negotiation skills. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for managing a team of Commercial Managers and ensuring the successful delivery of projects while maintaining target margins and profits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Commercial Director in developing and managing a team of Commercial Managers.
- Engage and contribute to projects at the pre-contract stage to ensure successful project setup and delivery.
- Balance workload between managing the commercial team and delivering projects hands-on.
- Ensure financial reporting on projects meets high standards and is available for monthly board reports.
- Work with the commercial director to identify opportunities for growth and development within the company.
- Champion the company culture of teamwork and value for all team members and stakeholders.
Key Duties & Experience:
- Demonstrated success as a senior Commercial Manager with a regional or national contractor.
- Proficient in managing all commercial aspects from pre-construction to final accounts.
- Thrives in challenging, fast-paced environments across commercial, residential, warehousing, and retail sectors.
- Skilled in preparing comprehensive management reports for the board with strong contractual awareness.
- Minimum 10 years' industry experience, including at least 5 years in a similar role, showcasing excellent people, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree level qualification in cost management preferred.
- Membership in an associated professional body such as the RICS.
- Minimum 10 years' industry experience, with at least 5 years in a similar role, supported by excellent references and evidence of experience.Top of Form
