About the role

 

This is the time for action – we need to move at pace and reform our energy system – to deliver energy security, to tackle climate change and to protect our people. 

 

Working on one of our major ASTI projects such as Eastern Green Link 1 or 2 this brand new role will act as a respected subject matter expert within the wider project team to ensure the work is delivered in a way that minimises the risk to the environment.

 

Being a key person within the project delivering advice and support to the project team on relevant issues, you’ll take a lead in monitoring of contractor performance and compliance.

 

Developing a positive environmental culture across the project, you’ll support the successful delivery of these high-profile construction projects.

 

This role is hybrid based, aligned to our North – North East projects therefore applicants should be open to travel across this geography and with occasional travel to visit our partners in Scotland.

 

We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements. 

About you

  • Environmental management experience within major project delivery
  • Knowledge of best practice in relation to environmental and sustainable delivery management
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability and confidence to communicate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
  • A valid UK driving license to enable UK travel

What you'll do

 

Crucially you’ll work in partnership with our joint venture environmental colleagues & stakeholders to develop and implement the approach to environmental management within the project; ensuring the risk to the environment is managed effectively.

 

You’ll communicate the key environmental requirements in a way that is meaningful to project teams and wider stakeholders to build a workplace culture that is passionate about the environment and take the lead in the development of training, resources, and guidance for the project team, highlighting key risks across the project. 

 

Measuring the project’s environmental performance to ensure reporting requirements are met in an efficient manner, you’ll engage across the contractor and project teams.

 

Additionally you’ll support in the investigation of any environmental incidents and take a lead in ensuring any learning is shared and embedded across the project’s supply chain.

What you'll get

 

A competitive starting salary between £50,000 – £60,000 dependent on capability.

 

A vehicle may be provided depending on location and likely business mileage.

 

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
