Construction Estimator – Central London – Residential/Commercial
Our client are a residential and commercial contractor who have sites across London, who are looking for an Estimator to deliver a project in Central London. The Construction Estimator plays a crucial role in the pre-construction phase of projects. This position is responsible for accurately estimating the costs of residential and commercial construction projects, from initial bid to project award. The Estimator will also be responsible for procurement-related tasks, ensuring that materials and subcontractor services are secured in a cost-effective and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Estimation:
- Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs from project drawings, specifications, and other relevant documents.
- Analyse project requirements and develop comprehensive cost estimates, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor bids.
- Bid Preparation:
- Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals to potential clients, adhering to deadlines.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotes for their services and materials.
- Procurement:
- Source and evaluate subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best value for materials and services.
- Negotiate terms and pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Cost Analysis and Value Engineering:
- Continuously evaluate and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of project estimates, bid documents, and correspondence.
