About The Role
Morrison Energy Services is recruiting for a Construction Manager to work on our SPEN Contract in Scotland.
As the Construction Manager your responsibilities will include:
To manage, and monitor the Scottish Power Framework inclusive of the Health, Safety & Environmental issues, construction of all works, commercial and KPI reporting, to maximise cost savings to the business, profit and success in line with the SPEN agreement.
- Overall Health and Safety issues in the Operational arm which you are responsible for
- Allocation of workloads inclusive of sub-contractors
- Management of the Operational team including resources and people management within MES and across our sub-contractors
- Financial responsibility for a successful delivery of the framework agreement and cost assessment and management of the proposed and agreed year on year target areas for savings
- Ensure compliance with current industry standards for all installation works constructed within the geographical footprint
- Ensure compliance with NERS with the sub-contractor partners
- Assistance where required to Scottish Power and the key stakeholders within the contract
- Maximise productivity with available resource and maximise the use on the nominated external sub-contractors (where possible)
- Ensure the overall productivity for all the Site Managers is overseen to achieve maximum profits for MES without exceeding the Scottish Power budgetary constraints
- Forward planning, cost forecasting and project amendments are produced and maintained in line with the works programme
- Create and deliver the information required to make Scottish Power aware of our performance
- Oversee effective work management and planning systems to provide accurate reporting to Scottish Power and ensure maximum efficiency and year on year cost savings are achieved through planning and process improvements
- Any other duties may be required that fall within the role competencies.
- This list is not inclusive or exhaustive and other duties will be expected to be managed for example the management and control of support services provided such as Computer systems, Procurement, Marketing, Accounts, Insurance, Site Design Processes and Quality Systems.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- In depth understanding of the business and experience in the design and build of power based construction projects
- Commercial Awareness and ability to work and plan to minimise costs
- Appropriate technical and operational qualifications
- Proven management skills.
