Accountability *The post holder will be immediately accountable to the Clinical Service Lead. The post holder will be expected to undertake yearly appraisal as per GMC guidelines and to respond to any identified development needs. Annual appraisal in line with revalidation is expected to occur as a GMC requirement. These duties and responsibilities are not intended to be exhaustive. Duties may be subject to review in the light of changing circumstances. Duties will be reflected in a job plan, which will be subject to annual review with the Clinical Service Leads and the Divisional Director. The post holder will be provided with the necessary IT equipment and access to training to be in a position to meet these objectives. Office space and secretarial support will be provided although both may be shared. All consultants in the department are managerially accountable through the Clinical Service Leads to the Divisional Medical Director, who has overall responsibility for the services within the Directorate. *Candidates are required to hold CCT or equivalent in Acute Medicine. *The successful candidates will provide necessary educational and clinical supervision for junior doctors and other health professionals working in their team. In addition, participation in the departmental and Trust wide teaching programmes for the relevant junior medical staff and members of the multidisciplinary teams is expected. *The post holder will ensure effective communication and involvement of staff across the Directorate including support to the General Manager and Group Support Managers to achieve their objectives. Work in collaboration with colleagues in other Directorates within the Trust. *Work within the Trust's framework for Clinical Governance and Risk, including the development of clinical policies and to supervise or lead quality improvement projects and audits. *The list is not exhaustive and all these would be discussed and a Job Plan agreed at the start. *The appointee will be managerially, but not clinically, accountable to the Deputy Divisional Medical Director and Clinical Service Lead
