Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team. The Consultant Psychiatrist will play a pivotal role in providing clinical leadership, psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to patients in our private hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations of patients presenting with mental health disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices, clinical guidelines, and patient preferences, ensuring a holistic approach to care.
- Provide pharmacological interventions, including medication management and prescription, and monitor treatment response and medication side effects closely.
- Offer psychotherapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and supportive therapy, depending on patient needs and clinical indications.
- Collaborate closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists, and social workers, to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment planning.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and clinical reviews to discuss patient progress, treatment outcomes, and any adjustments to the care plan.
- Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and guidance to junior medical staff, including psychiatric trainees and medical students, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, as well as relevant regulatory requirements, governing psychiatric practice, patient confidentiality, and informed consent.
- Engage in continuous professional development activities, including attending conferences, workshops, and training sessions, to stay updated on the latest advancements in psychiatric research, treatments, and interventions.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and service development projects aimed at enhancing the delivery of mental health care within the hospital setting.
