About the role

Obelisk House (nr Kingsthorpe) provides exceptional levels of support in residential and Dementia care.

It is situated in a residential suburb in Northampton and it offers a wonderful living environment in which our residents can enjoy an enhanced quality of life.

We have teams of friendly and committed staff who provide the highest level of dementia care and residential care.

With our great accommodation and facilities and a programme of activities, our care home evoke a home from home atmosphere in which our residents can feel comfortable, content and very well cared for.

What will you be doing?

When working, we are looking for people that will ensure that our customers have a high quality dining experience, and always treat our customers with kindness, respect and compassion, to help foster a feeling of happiness and contentment.

Working with the team managing the day to day preparation and cooking of meals for the elderly residents to include modified textured diets. Ensuring that health & safety standards are met in the kitchen.

You’ll liaise with the Care Team to ensure meals meet residents medical requirements, ensuring that such meals are prepared using the appropriate methods and in the correct environment.

Ideally you will also have experience or assisted in ordering of stock and arranging delivery items to be put away correctly.

Understanding of temperatures and labelling of fridge items.

Hours of work:  (37 hours per week) 

A mix of 8am - 3pm and 9am - 5pm with every other weekend of 7am - 2.30pm  

 

About you

  • Previous experience with a catering environment.
  • Food hygiene certificate.
  • Work within health & safety guidelines.
  • A good understanding of numeracy and literacy. 
  • A good respect for diversity and individuality
