My client is looking for a Housing Support Coordinator to join their team in Surbiton. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless. You will be responsible for supporting a team of 6 to ensure that all residents receive the best possible support.
Job Purpose-
• To provide supervision to the Housing and Support team members
• Support the Housing and Support Manager
• Work collaboratively with other departments
• To be responsible for the Safeguarding of residents
• To be responsible for maximising housing occupancy and minimising voids, leading on all referrals and the induction of new residents, acting as the link for partner agencies.
• Support the Housing and Support Manager with the compliance with Tenancy and License conditions, and deal with any anti-social behaviour, making appropriate decisions in line with the policies and procedures.
Essential Requirements:
• Experience of working in a similar role within the charity sector.
• Knowledge of the issues facing individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience managing a team.
Desirable Requirements:
• Experience of working with local authorities, housing associations, and other relevant organizations.
• Knowledge of the benefits system and how to support clients to access the benefits they are entitled to.
