The opportunity
As part of the Local Government & Communities Business Unit (BU) you will be integral to the exciting development plans of one of our growth sectors. Working across the sector, on projects and programmes across Local Government, Residential & Regeneration, Sports & Leisure, Arts, Culture & Heritage and Blue Light in the UK & Europe.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Contributes to the development of strategic management and operational plans in conjunction with LG&C Regional Leads and National CCM Service Lead. Demonstrable ability to lead and support growth, optimal business performance and improvement and operational leadership.
- Awareness of contract & Commercial procedures with ability to identify, analyse and manage business opportunities and risks – seeing problems early and contributing to resolution.
- Leads teams of professionals providing services on large projects, programmes or technical specialist recognised as an expert in their own area of expertise.
- Manages resources, driving the achievement of BU and Regional objectives in accordance with BU requirements, compliance, and regulatory frameworks, ensuring effective commercial business practices and performance, and tangible operational and business productivity and improvements.
- Provides line management and oversees regional recruitment including ownership of the regional CCM growth plans.
- Responsible for strategic client engagement, identifying leads & opportunities, supporting BU and Regional teams in winning work and bidding. Responsible for managing senior level customer relationships for the BU & Hub.
- Responsible for meeting client service expectations; manages multiple client and partner relationships and engages clients on the subject of our service offering.
- Contributes to business growth and market positioning through sales and/or growth of accounts or relationships in line with Regional & BU strategy - driving a future-proofed, sustainable business.
- Leads the Quality Assurance across the discipline, ensuring that all teams comply with the MaceWay process. Responsible for deploying an assurance and audit regime across the Region, ensuring service excellence is achieved and maintained and best practice lessons learnt are fed back into the wider BU CCM community as well as the Hub/Global Centre of Excellence.
- Communicates internally and externally regarding success in the Service Line, best practice, innovation.
- Identifying, coaching & mentoring talent; supporting professional development and mobility. Persuading and influencing junior colleagues and an ability to delegate tasks to others not within line management structure.
- The ability to engage, motivate and coach others. To act as a role model, be a culture broadcaster and inspire and empower others.
- Detailed understanding of construction technology, planning, delivery, site logistics, sustainability; commercial & legal / contract issues;

- Ability to deal with conflicting demands and juggle priorities – supporting regional colleagues and national priorities as required in conjunction with regional role.
