We are looking for highly motivated, customer focused individual to join our Council Tax Team.
The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to manage their own time and to meet targets and deadlines. It is essential that the successful candidate has good customer service skills and, where they can, demonstrate good levels of quality and outputs.
The role of the Council Tax Officer is to ensure the timely collection of Council Tax and to make sure the Council Tax list is up-to-date, ensuring that work is efficiently processed within given timescales and customers receive accurate and timely information in accordance with Legislation and Council policy.
To provide specialist advice and assistance with Council Tax duties providing a responsive service to internal and external customers and colleagues through a variety of access channels including telephone, face to face, written and electronic mail.
Other duties will include: -
Provide an efficient, effective, responsive and user-friendly service to all customers and partners that recognise our stakeholder needs.
Negotiate repayment of Council Tax making decisions based on the individuals’ financial circumstances.
Maintain the Council Tax database
You must possess a Level 2 Qualification, Key Skills level 2 in an equivalent work related area or;
- BTEC First Diplomas and certificates
- OCR Nationals.
