A leading Manchester City Centre law firm is currently looking to recruit an Administration Assistant to join the firm's Court of Protection Department. You will be working to support and advise colleagues and clients with welfare benefits enquiries.
This role would suit someone coming from an administration-based role within social care or community care work.
An understanding of the Court of Protection and deputy responsibilities in relation to OPG guidelines and Welfare Benefits would be highly advantageous along with basic understanding of the Mental Health Act and any experience of dealing with vulnerable adults who lack capacity.
This role is full office based in Manchester City Centre with the option of hybrid working after a settling in period
Duties include:
- Providing general administrative support to the Benefits Expert
- Notifying the Department for Work and Pensions of any change of circumstances that may increase or decrease Welfare Benefit income as instructed
- Assisting with the preparation and lodging appeal submissions for tribunal hearing and representing clients who do not have the capacity to represent themselves
- Assisting with and preparing any communications for Welfare Benefits training to internal and external colleagues provided by the Benefits Expert
