Position: Full-Time Cover Supervisor
Duration: ASAP to July, with potential for a permanent contract from September.
Pay: £100 – £150 per day (depending on experience)
About the role:
Supply Desk are working closely with a Secondary School based in Andover that are seeking a full time Cover Supervisor to start ASAP on a long term contract until July with the school looking to make the position permanent for the right person.
Working as a Cover Supervisor can be extremely rewarding but it is also very demanding. The Cover Supervisor’s main job is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set by an absent teacher. It is important that you are confident working with teenage students, have the ability to work under challenging situations and are adaptable. Training is provided by the School to help. You will need to have a degree and ideally some experience working in a similar role. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone that is seeking a career in education and teaching.
About the School:
The School is a mixed Secondary School based in Andover for students aged from 11 to 16 years with around 900 students in total. Pupils enjoy a wide range of opportunities to develop confidence and character. A wide range of extra-curricular clubs enrich the curriculum. The school has strengthened the teaching of modern foreign languages to encourage more students to opt for these subjects in Year 10. The number of pupils succeeding in these subjects is increasing year by year. The School comes with a Good Ofsted rating and has a supportive SLT that cares deeply for the Schools values.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified.
- Some experience working in Schools, ideally in a similar position.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and engage students effectively.
- Flexibility and adaptability to cover various subjects and year groups.
- Previous experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential.
