Prospero Teaching are looking for passionate and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in Secondary Schools in the Southampton and surrounding areas.
The main role of a Cover Supervisor is to supervise and support students in the classroom. Lesson materials are fully provided and will often involve consolidation lessons and project based work.
Although not actively teaching, it is important for a Cover Supervisor to have the skills and confidence needed to keep the class motivated and focused so they can work on the activities set and prepared for them. The role requires you to support pupils as they work through the lesson and to understand how to help them to complete tasks, where needed.
This role is ideal for graduates and aspiring teachers wanting to gain more experience before applying for teacher training.

About the Cover Supervisor Position:
Supervising pupils and ensuring a positive learning environment.
No marking, planning or preparation - cover work is provided for you.
Covering PE lessons as well as in the classroom.
A head start before applying for teacher training.
The Successful Cover Supervisor will have/be:
Strong classroom management skills while providing an inclusive learning environment.
Confidence with teaching across all Key stages.
GCSE minimum grade C or equivalent functional skills in English and Maths
Hold high expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour.
Posses strong interpersonal skills while communicating with parents, pupils and staff.

To be Eligible the Cover Supervisor must have/be:
Relevant experience (Degree preferable but not essential )
Proof of eligibility to live and work in the UK.
The ability to provide two professional references that cover the last two years of employment.
Hold a fully enhanced DBS certificates (child workforce only) that is registered to the Update Service, or be willing to complete one.
