We are looking for two suitable candidates with excellent customer care and organisational skills to join our team at the Goole Customer Service Centre. Experience of working with the public would be an advantage.
What you’ll be doing:
Working as a Customer Advisor your role will be to provide a high quality customer transaction, enquiry and information service to local residents.
You will work as part of a team and will engage with customers face to face and on the telephone. The role with involve engaging with residents including supporting increased use of digital channels to access council services.
Regular cover at Howden Centre undertaking Customer Services duties is a feature of the role, and travel to and from there is also required.
About You:
You will be a dynamic and proactive individual with excellent communication and I.T skills, who enjoys speaking directly with the public, and possesses a great telephone manner.
You’re someone who enjoys working with customers of all ages and can deal with difficult situations effectively, keeping calm under pressure.
You will have excellent communication skills and have an enthusiastic approach to delivering excellent customer service.
You will need to demonstrate that you:
- Are a good team player who can easily adapt to new situations and have the ability to work on your own initiative without supervision.
- Have excellent IT skills to assist and encourage customers to self-serve, and are able to use a wide range of systems whilst serving customers.
- Possess the ability to promote and utilise digital resources for effective service delivery.
- Can effectively respond to customer enquiries via face to face and telephone contact and via email and web chat channels as appropriate.

Hours per week:
There are two positions available, one 29 hour post and one 18.5 hour post (please note the advertised salary is for the 29 hour post and the salary for the 18.5 hour post will be lower than what is advertised).
- Position 1 - 29.00 hours - Mon 7.0, Tue, 7.5, Wed 7.5, Fri 7.0
- Position 2 - 18.50 hours - Wed PM 4.0, Thu 7.5, Fri 7.0
