- Preparation of import files and sending clearance instructions to nominated clearing agent in line with vessel dock dates or transport bookings to meet delivery book dates, whichever is applicable.
- Monitor and escalate issues relating to missing/incorrect documents, manifest issues as required and log/escalate where necessary.
- Ensure all preference documents are valid and present for reduced/nil duty rates to be applied. Efficient and timely preparation / submission of Preference duty reclaims to HMRC.
- Preparation of SCDP (Simplified Customs Declaration Procedure) declarations to the UK Customs authorities and their submission to CDS (Customs declaration service).
- Completion of month end procedures to meet legal deadlines.
- To support data capture, reporting and reconciliation. Resolve identified issues, escalating to management where required.
- Building and maintaining excellent relationships with our cross functional departments and external business partners.
- To support and manage, where required, customs projects defined by the Customs Managers.

- Proficient use of Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Access). SAP knowledge desirable.
- Practical knowledge of customs clearance operations and customs regulations desirable.
- An ability to understand regulatory language and documents.
- Good planning and organizational skills, and ability to work, be flexible and deliver in dynamic environments while adhering to specified deadlines.
- Results driven with ability to work individually, as part of a team and through cross functional teamwork

- Knowledge of supply chain operations is an advantage.
- GCSE educated as minimum, Maths and English.
- Understanding and experience of SCDP (Simplified Customs Declaration Procedure) is desirable.
- Understanding and experience of customs warehouse principles desirable.
- Fluent in English both spoken and written.
