Data & Analytics Senior Data Architect - 12 months - INSIDE IR35
Data & Analytics Senior Data Architect with knowledge of modelling, transforming and mapping data, with the ability to analyse and document existing and proposed data structures and establish how to map them to a new target data model. This project will define and develop a Data Foundations layer and define the overall enterprise architecture for a new digital operational data platform that over time will replace a unified API with microservices based architecture.
- Experience of various database and business intelligence technologies, with significant knowledge and experience in the design of logical and physical data models, the design of data interface specifications, and the detailed design of ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) data mappings.
- Experience of how to plan and execute complex data migrations, master data management, and how to prepare data for consumption by microservices and APIs
- Previous experience of working across the full data lifecycle for all components of the system is expected.
- The ability to produce interface specifications, data models, dataflow diagrams, data dictionaries and visualisations will be key to gaining stakeholder buy in, supporting development teams in preparing their work and driving data quality.
- Knowledge of emerging data technologies (preferably the Microsoft Azure Tech Stack) are desired, but strong SQL skills are expected.
- Experience in BI system design is expected too, including strategies for managing slowly changing dimensions, late arriving data, potentially conflicting data sources, data quality issues, and sensitive/personal data.
