This is an exciting opportunity to join HM Land Registry’s (HMLR’s) Data Architecture team.
As Data Architect, you will help deliver Data Architecture and governance outcomes that support HMLR’s business and data strategies and help to deliver our business plan objectives.
This is a varied role, with the opportunity to be involved in Data Architecture taking responsibility for data design and documentation, as well as data governance to ensure that data is managed within an appropriate framework.

The role can be based in any of the 12 HMLR Offices, with a requirement for frequent travel to the Plymouth Office (approximately once every 2 weeks) as this is where the majority of the team are based.
Job description
As Data Architect you will support the development and implementation of data policies and standards that help to support HMLR’s business strategy and plan, producing data designs to support the full data lifecycle, ensuring that services are planned, designed and run, in compliance with data policy and standards.
You will work with solution engineering teams to ensure systems are designed, upgraded, managed, de-commissioned and archived in compliance with data policy across the full data life cycle.
You will design and implement practical data governance solutions to support organisational needs, and be responsible for data governance assurance, making recommendations to ensure compliance.
You will be involved in data policy and processes, and should keep up to date with emerging trends and features of database models and management systems.

Person specification
To be successful in this role, you will have current knowledge of implementing data governance frameworks, and be adept at data modelling, producing data models and reverse-engineer data models.
You will have the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical roles.
You will be able to evidence skills in data analysis and synthesis, data standards, metadata management and problem management, with the ability to turn business problems into data design.
You should be able to evidence experience of working with agile delivery teams to deliver effective Data Architecture and/or data governance outcomes, along with stakeholder relationship management and the ability to multi-task and prioritise projects. You will have line management experience, developing skills and capability of your staff.
