Data Assurance Lead - 12 Month contract
Purpose and Scope: The Data Assurance Lead, reporting to the Global Governance Assurance Manager, will support the implementation of the Technical Specification Programme Data Assurance strategy. This role aligns with our ambition to be trusted by all stakeholders for conducting business ethically.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Governance:
- Develop and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
- Ensure consistent and effective management of data assets throughout their lifecycle.
Risk Assessment:
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential data vulnerabilities, threats, and compliance gaps.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
Compliance Management:
- Monitor regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
- Ensure compliance with data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and other relevant regulations.
- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to address any compliance issues or concerns.
Data Quality Assurance:
- Establish processes for assessing and improving the quality, accuracy, and completeness of organisational data.
- Implement data quality metrics and performance indicators to measure and monitor data integrity.
Security Controls:
- Define and implement data security controls, including access controls, encryption, and authentication mechanisms.
- Protect sensitive data from unauthorised access, disclosure, or misuse.
Incident Response:
- Develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures.
- Coordinate with IT security teams to investigate incidents, contain threats, and implement remediation measures.
Training and Awareness:
- Provide training and awareness programs on data governance best practices, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Foster a culture of data stewardship and accountability.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, compliance, and business units.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data governance and assurance matters.
Key Qualifications:
- Technical expertise in Data Assurance.
- Analytical skills and leadership abilities.
- Proven record in projects and cross-functional teamwork.
- Advanced competency in risk and assurance or other relevant governance functions.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a technical & manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience in data governance, risk management, and compliance within a corporate or regulatory environment.
- Strong understanding of data protection laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR).
- Proficiency in data analysis tools, data quality management software, and security technologies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Information:
- Industry Preference: FMCG industry.
- Required Skills: Proven experience in data governance, risk management, and compliance. Understanding of data protection laws and proficiency in data analysis tools.

- Duration: Jul/01/2024 - Jun/30/2025, with potential 6-month extension.
