The Technology directorate is an integral internal partner for BHF to help deliver our strategy and, as our Data Engineer, you’ll support the successful delivery of a scalable data intelligence platform in Azure. This will provide the services and tools to extract deeper insights from big and complex data using predictive analytics and AI, with a particular focus on Health Intelligence and Analysis. This in turn will enable the uncovering of actionable insights previously hidden in data.
You’ll support the roll out of this platform and ensure these insights are used to guide our mission-focused decision making and strategic planning, helping BHF to deliver against its core mission-led strategic objectives.
The platform will be designed to be iterative and adaptive, allowing exploration of new data sources, models, and algorithms over time, ensuring that BHF stays current and leverages the latest advancements in data intelligence.
You’ll work closely with our Health Insights Team, the Technology Operational Teams and our 3rd party delivery partner to ensure successful implementation and ongoing support of the new platform which we are calling The Data Science Environment.
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

A Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer, you’ll have previous SQL knowledge and experience as well as knowledge and experience of using Python, Java, or Scala.
With previous experience working in a technical support and delivery function, you’ll have experience of supporting the delivery of multiple complex projects simultaneously, as well as working within a technical delivery team to support non-technical users.
You’ll have proven experience balancing multiple priorities, as well as experience working with Databricks and the Databricks Unity Catalog.
To be successful in this role you’ll also have the following skills and experience:

- Excellent interpersonal skills able to liaise effectively at all levels and with a wide variety of stakeholders
