Kickstart your career with data right here at Auto Trader, our Customer Operations team are looking for a Data Entry Apprentice to join them, where you'll be supported by a dedicated group of Data Entry Specialists.
In this exciting apprenticeship opportunity, you will work on data that powers various aspects of our website and apps, contributing to the seamless functionality of features such as search filters, car technical specifications, and prices.

As a Data Entry Apprentice, you will learn to ensure the accuracy of data by checking, editing, interpreting and standardising information across various categories.
You’ll use data from a variety of industry bodies and suppliers to ensure we provide the best and most accurate vehicle information. This data enables our retailers to promote their vehicles and gives the public accurate information to help them with their purchasing decisions.
This apprenticeship programme covers the fundamentals of how to work with data. It has been designed for individuals who are about to start a new role/career path in data, or for employees who already work with data and have gaps in their knowledge and skills and want to build their confidence and competence.
You might believe that a passion for cars is a requirement, but guess what? It’s not! At Auto Trader, you’re welcome just as you are.
Eligibility Criteria
- You must not hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in the same or similar subject (examples of this would be a data related, HNC/D, foundation degree, degree etc.)
- You currently hold a Level 2/GCSE in English and Mathematics at grade 4 (C) or above
- You cannot be enrolled in any other full-time education when the apprenticeship starts in September 2024
- You must have the right to work in the England and be a resident here for 3 years prior to the start date
What we're looking for
- You will have a keen interest in data with basic excel skills and/or desire to learn; we will help train and develop this
- You will have a logical and analytical approach that allows you to spot anomaly’s, breakdown issues and diagnose the root cause
- Self-motivated with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Relationship-building skills and a collaborative nature to engage with internal and external stakeholders in resolving issues
- As you will be working with live systems and data it is crucial that you have excellent attention to detail.
Whilst this is a permanent role, the actual apprenticeship will last just under 2 years, so it requires dedication and a love of learning with a real aim to succeed. During your time as an apprentice, you will be part of our early careers network which will allow you to connect, support and share knowledge with other colleagues.
