Job description

York Learning are looking for a proactive person with a can-do approach to problem solving to join their operations team as a Data, MIS and Course Administrator.

The role includes a mixture of working on management information systems, processing, analysing and disseminating data and working with our Flexible Learning digital skills tutors to support delivery of digital skills courses by enrolling learners, processing data, organising applications for adjustments, liaison with awarding bodies and so on.

You’ll be based at multiple sites including some work in our Flexible Learning office in Clifton Explore Library, York plus West Offices our main building so access to transportation is a positive.

You will work across multiple teams, directly line managed by our Operations Manager but will work closely with our Flexible Learning Co-Ordinator, our MIS Manager and various curriculum managers as per the demands of our busy service.

You will bring a high level of proficiency working with Excel, databases and the Microsoft Office package, as well as confidence to gain knowledge and skills with new software packages quickly and then disseminate to others. You’re able to investigate and analyse data and present outcomes and findings from the data to others. You’ll have the skills and confidence to prioritise and juggle your workload to best meet the demands of the service and deliver your various priorities on time. You will be a fast learner, good at communicating with both the public and internal/external stakeholders and willing to get involved with the various projects, partnership working and ongoing delivery of high-quality teaching and learning that is what York Learning is all about.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express him/herself spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
