Commis Chef

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef to join our client's vibrant café team. The successful candidate will assist in preparing and cooking delicious dishes and maintaining their high standards of quality and presentation.
This role is perfect for someone eager to develop their culinary skills in a friendly and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to the café menu
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times
• Prepare ingredients, assist with stock rotation, and manage inventory
• Work alongside a talented team led by the Head Chef and other senior kitchen staff
• Help with plating and presentation of dishes to ensure they meet the café’s standards
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance culinary skills
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of the kitchen for service

Your skills:

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential
• Culinary qualification or relevant training is a plus
• Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• A passion for cooking and a willingness to learn
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, weekends, and holidays
