Join us and support our company wide data initiative as a Data Platform Engineer. You will define, develop, construct, manage and implement Data Platforms, infrastructure, data tools and data operational capabilities for the enterprise - such as data warehouses, data visualisation platforms, mater data management, AI platforms and data integration platforms. Your role will ensure that data is collected, stored, processed and surfaced for data analysis and reporting business outcomes
This is what you'll be doing:
- You will support the strategic, platform and technical leadership within the Enterprise Data, Data Engineering and BI teams to ensure the Data Platforms are designed, operated and maintained as per local requirements, international guidelines within established data architecture blueprints
- Lead the design and deployment of unique innovative data technologies across our Data Platforms with a focus on Data Platform management and operations to support our data product delivery, data strategy and our data services
- You'll lead the definition, development, delivery and operations of a Data Operations (DataOps) capability and Data Infrastructure that supports agile and collaborative data management practices, with a focus on improved communication, integration, automation, observability and operations of data flows between data engineers and data consumers
- Support the data product team, data management, data architecture and enterprise data as a whole with defining, delivering and supporting the operations of Data Platform technologies across the data capability landscape e.g. data management, data lineage, master data management, data mesh architecture, data warehouse, data lakes to achieve our business and data strategy for the enterprises well as our data outcomes
- Lead the data pipeline development for building and maintaining data pipelines to ingest, transform and load data from various data sources into the Data Platforms through relevant Data Platform infrastructure, data tools, data integrations, data quality, data monitoring and data observability. To achieve stable and operable professional data technology services and data business outcomes for realisation of our business strategy
- You will effectively manage delivery of the next generation of Data Platform technologies providing best-in-class scaling, availability, and operational support to deliver a digital and data driven experience for our customers and partners
- Define, develop and deliver automation for data activities such as data ingestion, data integration, RTL/ELT processes and data quality checks to achieve stability, speed to market and quality of our Data Platforms and data services across the enterprise.
- Collaborate with 1st and 2nd line support teams to enhance the operating model to incorporate appropriate coverage of data processing and data services
This is the experience you can bring with you to add value in this role:
- You have expert knowledge of Data Platforms such as Oracle, Informatica, SAP DS, Collibra
- Advanced working Data knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as a working familiarity with a variety of databases
- Building and optimising 'big data' data pipelines, architectures and data sets
- Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration tools such as; Docker and Kubernetes
- Demonstrate root cause analysis on internal and external Data Platforms and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
- You have proven leadership experience of build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management
- A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets
- Strong design and development experience of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools
- Excellent Cloud experience with AWS, Azure or Google
- You have supported and worked with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
- Proven strong experience in working with Agile teams, value streams, communities of practice
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Cassandra
- Data pipeline and workflow management tools: Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, etc.
- AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift
- Experience with Integration platforms such as Informatica, SAP DS etc.
- An Agile certification and experience in Financial Services, Automotive Finance or retail consumer finance (B2C) would be an advantage
- Excellent level of data & AI, data engineering, Data Platform design and management skills
- Ability to resolve issues through strong problem solving skills: root cause analysis; engaging people from multiple business and IT teams
- Stakeholder management and strong communication to get to the root of a problem and ensure the correct priority and resources are available to resolve issues
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex data and arguments in a way that is accessible to everyone
- You have a tenacious approach and are focused and determined to get the job done effectively, overcoming any challenges
