Our Tech Team at Santander UK is growing, and we are looking for Platform Engineer to help us continue leading the way in innovative banking.
The focus of your role will be to provide design and build support across a subset of our Infrastructure Technology areas, including end to end management of the delivery design lifecycle.
You will also lead more complex implementations to develop compatible IT infrastructure systems in line with organisational strategies, across our Hybrid Cloud ecosystem.

The difference you'll make:
Designing and delivering infrastructure solutions to enable product delivery and transformation
Working with key stakeholders to translate high level Architecture into detailed solutions that meet the bank's standards and overall strategy
Providing technical development and oversight for the implementation of infrastructure solutions
Contributing towards design improvements that allow for more efficient support of the environment, applications, and customers
Participating in technical planning sessions, to help determine most appropriate technical placement and solution to achieve customer demands
Improving the Infrastructure demand management process from requirement discovery to operational support, ensuring effective solutions
What you'll bring:
Proven experience of designing infrastructure solutions within a Private Cloud environment, ideally with hands-on experience across various Datacentre technologies
Excellent written and communication skills to work alongside key stakeholders to reach optimum solutions, that are both cost effective and secure
Ability to design solutions that are highly resilient in a cost effective and secure manner
Strong and demonstrable experience managing large-scale technology deployments
Knowledge of computer architecture and system software interaction
Ability to design and build a fundamental architecture of operating systems, database management systems, communications protocols, compilers and other development tools
It would also be nice for you to have:
Experience of designing solutions for large-scale technology deployments in a highly regulated environment
Good knowledge of network technologies across a Hybrid infrastructure (including Networking concepts, switching, routing, Firewalling, MPLS, BGP, Cisco Routers, VLAN)
Effective communication and diplomacy skills to help guide and influence others
Experience in participating and contributing to teams in a cross-functional environment

This role is based in Milton Keynes and our current expectation is at least 2 days in an office every week.

First Stage - Technical & Competency Interview - this will a one-hour virtual interview
2nd Stage - A formal interview where we will ask both technical and competency-based questions - this will be a one-hour face to face interview at Unity Place, Milton Keynes

Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus
