As a Data Protection Administrator specializing in Freedom of Information (FOI) and Subject Access Requests (SARs), your role will involve managing requests for information under these regulations. Key responsibilities include:
- Handling FOIs and SARs: Processing and responding to requests for information from individuals or organisations under FOI and SAR guidelines.
- Document Redaction: Reviewing requested documents to identify and redact sensitive or exempt information according to FOI and SAR exemptions and Data Protection laws.
- Applying Exemptions: Knowledgeably applying exemptions permitted under FOI and SAR laws to ensure appropriate information disclosure while safeguarding sensitive data.
- Drafting Responses: Crafting clear, accurate, and legally compliant responses to FOI and SAR requests, explaining decisions and providing necessary information or redacted documents.
- Compliance and Legal Expertise: Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Data Protection laws, FOI regulations, and SAR guidelines to ensure responses align with legal requirements and organisational policies.
- Communication: Liaising with our internal team as needed to handle complex or contentious requests effectively.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of requests, responses, redaction decisions, and exemptions applied for auditing and compliance purposes.
Successful candidates will possess strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of Data Protection principles and FOI/SAR regulations. They must also demonstrate proficiency in legal interpretation and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
This job will start as two days a week for one month with the potential to extend for the right candidate.
