A rare opportunity has arisen to join the Data Protection team to support with maintaining our compliance with Data Protection and environmental information legislation. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who can support the team with a variety of tasks including requests for information, project work, and awareness raising.
As a Data Protection Assistant you will support the Data Protection team to fulfil a wide range of tasks. These include:
- Supporting with the response to information requests, such as subject access, third-party and Environmental Information requests. This will include engaging with colleagues across the business to obtain the required information and perform redactions, where required
- Monitoring the Data Protection inbox to ensure tasks and queries are correctly assigned to the relevant member of the team
- Responding to internal and external enquiries as required
- Coordinating the Data Protection Impact Assessment review process
- Ensuring the Data Protection compliance records and logs are kept up to data
- Building relationships with our internal teams to help drive and embed Data Protection compliance in our day-to-day operations
- Supporting with data mapping to ensure our Records of Processing Activities remains up to date
- Supporting with other duties such as project work, training development, breach investigation and data retention reviews
Essential experience required
- Keen interest in Data Protection or experience in this area
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow defined procedures and work to tight timescales
- Attention to detail
- Competent in MS Office
- Able to work independently
- Ability to coordinate different work streams and demands
- Excellent organisational skills, methodical and accurate
- Be willing to attend formal Data Protection training, if required
Desirable
- Previous experience in a Data Protection or information officer
- Previous experience of responding to requests in accordance with the Environmental Information Regulations
- Experience of data privacy software
