We are offering an exciting opportunity for students to spend a year working in a global research and development based pharmaceutical company.

The team:

The team consists of 3 members, comprising Data Protection Officer, Data Protection Manager and Data Protection Associate and responsible for Data Protection compliance of the Eisai EMEA region.

The role:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with the rest of the team when carrying out Data Protection compliance tasks in multiple countries and will gain an abundance of learning opportunities, enhancing their professional career development in a highly regulated industry.
 
Responsibilities include but not be limited to:

  • Support to carry out various Data Protection assessments including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA), Vendor assessments, Legitimate Interests Assessments, Transfer Impact Assessments 
  • Support to manage personal data breach process 
  • Manage EMEA Data Protection helpdesk, answer queries in a timely manner and where necessary escalate queries to other team members
  • Support to carryout Eisai’s Data Protection compliance programme 
  • Support with data privacy notices, Data Protection related SOPs, policies and templates
  • Support the team when carrying out Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR)
  • Support to ensure the records of processing activities, ROPA (processing register) for each relevant Eisai entity is maintained in line with Article 30 and ensure these are up to date

Salary: Competitive

Education, Skills & experience required:

A recognised degree level qualification or an undergraduate in any of the following: compliance, business ethics, legal, risk management, or other discipline with relevant transferrable skills 
Working knowledge of compliance, ethics, risk management, Data Protection, preferably in the pharmaceutical sector
Experience of working in a training/communications role preferably within a compliance, regulatory or pharmaceutical environment 
Knowledge of other applicable Data Protection laws is advantageous but not required
Experience could have been gained in the regulatory, legal, research, risk, compliance or auditing departments although applicants from other areas will be considered
Good verbal and written communication skills (fluent in spoken & written English) with good presentation / negotiation skills
Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and manage multiple deadlines
A second language (ideally French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish or Japanese) is advantageous but not required.
