Marks Sattin is currently recruiting for a Data Protection Manager who will be supporting the business to ensure the day-to-day operation and oversight of the groups Data Protection strategy, and privacy management framework, are delivered in an agile manner.
A great progression opportunity, you will be supporting the DPO in monitoring the groups compliance with Data Protection laws and regulations.
Contribute to the provision of Data Protection training, awareness and communication, including staff mandatory training, specific training workshops, advice and guidance and communications to the business on a regular basis.
Responsibilities
- Stay up-to-date with evolving Data Protection laws and regulations, and adapt policies and practices accordingly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with Data Protection regulations such as GDPR and other relevant standards.
- Assist the DPO in the development and delivery of associated programmes, roadmaps and supporting projects.
- Assess and monitor the Data Protection practices of third-party suppliers and partners to ensure they continue to meet the standard
- Initial point of contact for data breaches and privacy incidents, ensuring swift and appropriate actions and escalations occur in the event of a breach.
- Supporting the on-boarding of acquisition businesses through Data Protection audits and reviews
Your Experience
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role, ideally operating across UK and European operations and ability to deputise in the DPO's absence.
- Extensive knowledge of DPA 2018, EU and UK GDPR
- Ability to promote the value of data privacy to all levels of the business.
- Analytical skills to assess and mitigate privacy risks.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing regulations and best practice.
