JOB TITLE : Data Virtualisation Product Owner
SALARY : £71,825 - £84,500
LOCATION : Manchester
HOURS : Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
Our team
We're the Data Movement Lab building and managing the future centralised nervous system, using the power of our existing batch technologies centred on IBM’s Infosphere DataStage stack, alongside our emerging cloud strategy and streaming analytics capability to get closer to our customers.
This will be the backbone of our Event data processing hub. Our goal is to democratise Lloyds Bank’s dataset. We’re currently supporting 1’000’s of processes across the Bank, acting as the Enterprise Data Integration function within the Bank for Retail, Insurance, Risk, Fraud, Customer Insight, Commercial and Corporate businesses.
Core Purpose of the role
Responsible for the release of incremental value contributing towards a holistic product, project or service with the main goal of realising value for customers and stakeholders by ensuring that the team are working on the right priorities. This is achieved by fostering collaborative, empowered teams, nurturing them to take ownership of the relevant outcomes. As well as stimulating innovation and mitigating risk by conducting data driven test and learn activities.
What you’ll be involved in
  • Meets the needs of significant customers related to a range of products and services and/or manages a customer advisor team over a given area.
  • Takes responsibility to formally grow capabilities within a significant functional area of the business, while personally investing in the growth of own and others' capabilities elsewhere in the organisation through mentoring and other informal methods.
  • Takes responsibility for developing and delivering change management plans and achieving outcomes that support the organisation's overall strategy.
  • Develops and/or delivers a plan for a specific area of responsibility by managing others.
  • Engages with senior business leaders to understand long-term strategic challenges.
  • Takes responsibility for developing and delivering a major part of the organisation's product development programme in order to enable overall corporate strategy.
  • Assists in the design and implementation of a compliance programme while ensuring adherence to regulatory and compliance standards by liaising with the regulator and/or supervises the activities of a regulatory/compliance team.
  • Manages a significant portion of the organisation's risk management and/or control process, contributing to the development and implementation of risk management policies and procedures.
  • Develops innovative solutions by integrating and analysing complex and diverse information sources.

Essential skills and experience:
  • Strength in collaboration as Data & Machine Learning Platform requires its Labs and Programmes to collaborate in building end-to-end Data products and services across LBG; so, collaboration needs to be a key part of your DNA.
  • A Strategic thinker when defining a product vision and direction in the delivery of a complete product experience from initiation to implementation and support.
  • An experienced Product Owner and leader, able to inspire and encourage the best from their teams, who can relate to our customer’s challenges and translate their emotions into real solutions.
  • Expertise in Product Ownership and management, proto-typing, building, deploying, and maintaining large scale data solutions.
  • Ability to lead a team aligning them toward common goals with conviction, compassion, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to communicate, translate and present critical information to multi-skilled people and teams at different levels in the organisation, understanding their differing needs.
  • A researcher who has a deep understanding of their customers and market with the ability to untangle and interpret the wealth of information into meaningful strategies.
  • Data domain skills and an understanding of the technology behind your product as well as understanding how it is built and that entails methodologies, processes and tools used to create efficient teams and agile delivery.
  • Strength in financial management so that you can operate as an accountant for your product.
  • Additionally, database technology experience such as Teradata, Oracle, Hadoop, DB2 and familiarity with NoSQL databases.
  • Technical know-how of ETL Tooling and Streaming and how they fit with cloud technologies experience and delivering data engineering solutions.
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary, mixed, geographically distributed teams across the project lifecycle.
