The role
As a Database Administrator/DBA (SQL Server), you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be part of the Core Applications Team and will report to the Head of DBA. The role will involve working within a well-established DBA team to support the SQL Server services for both Production and Development.
Day to day as the Database Administrator/DBA (SQL Server), you'll:
• Perform daily checks, including review of backup reports and respond to monitoring alerts. Troubleshoot database-related issues and work collaboratively with the IT teams to resolve problems
• Work on maintenance of the account, permissions & auditing to ensure data security adheres to the group audit and compliance policies
• Collaboratively work with other support teams to investigate critical incidents which are impacting mission critical systems
• Administer SQL Server Installation, configuration, and patching. To ensure all services remain secure and evergreen while continuing to protect the integrity of the data
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes. Monitoring database activity and resource usage to optimise database performance
This role is a full time, permanent position and consists of 37.5 weekly hours of work. This role is fully remote. There will be requirements to travel to your closest office hub on an ad-hoc basis and you must have a willingness to work out of business hours and on-call roster as required.

Experience of the Database Administrator/DBA (SQL Server):
• MS SQL Server 2016 and above (job scheduling, AOAG, SSIS, SSRS, monitoring tools)
• Knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio, Integration Services and Reporting Services
• Experience with relevant operating systems, software and infrastructure and Windows
