Stirling Council is an ambitious Council seeking to take advantage of its unrivalled location and rapid growth to provide opportunities and services for all its citizens and to encourage sustainable business and community development.
Stirling Council as a whole, and the Governance Service in particular, has embarked on an exciting transformation programme to best place the Council to meet the needs of its citizens. We are looking for a Democratic Support Coordinator to join our Democratic Team, supporting the Chief Officer – Governance and the Democratic Service Manager to help drive forward the change process within our team and the Council. This is an opportunity for an ambitious individual to play a role in developing the service, leading change, and providing high quality support to colleagues and elected members. You will report directly to the Democratic Service Manager and provide support across the breadth of the team’s functions, leading the provision of high quality support to committees, councillors, elections, and the Council’s civic functions, and driving the establishment of new ways of working making use of modern technological solutions. Organisational and communications skills, as well as political awareness, are essential, together with a commitment to customer-focused public services. This role offers the opportunity of significant contact across the whole organisation, to the very highest levels, and the ability to learn and develop expertise across the whole range of functions within the team.
If you would like to have an informal discussion please contact Graeme Forrester, Democratic Service Manager, on forresterg@stirling.gov.uk.
