Melbreck are working this a multinational, class-leading innovator of the worlds most advanced specialist equipment, that supplies every industry, from Medical Devices through to the Automotive Sector.
They have had a fantastic 2023, with planned sales exceeding expectations and as such are looking to expand their technical function.
As such they are looking to hire a Design Engineer / R&D Engineer to join their business ASAP.
Design Engineer / R&D Engineer – Role Overview:
You will be responsible for bringing new products and concepts to life, by working on prototypes and pre-production products.
In addition, as a member of the Innovation and Technology department, you will help to provide a high level technical of advice and support internally and externally on any material-related product applications or issues.
You will be proactively looking at research on new materials, processes, and relevant industrial trends to keep the business ahead of its competitors.
You will develop specifications so that they can be introduced into the manufacture of products, new or existing, and into the appropriate manufacturing processes.
Design Engineer / R&D Engineer – Role Tasks:
To design and implement experimental techniques.
Create and maintain strong links with industry experts, relevant academic bodies, and other associations.
To design and validate products.
To coordinate prototype production and evaluation.
To be responsible for product performance testing, evaluation, and reporting.
To create and formulate innovative product proposals based on technologies/trends and customer/marketplace.
To help achieve product/process cost reduction goals.
To propose manufacturing process selection and evaluation.
Design Engineer / R&D Engineer – Candidate Requirements:
Degree / HND in mechanical engineering and/or design
Industry experience within Automotive, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Oil & Gas and Chemical Process Industries.
Years + Design engineering experience.
Design Engineer / R&D Engineer – Hours and Benefits:
Mon to Thurs 8am-4.30pm
Friday 8am-2pm
